After their historic participation at the just-concluded 2018 Winter Olympics, the Bobsled and Skeleton athletes, Seun Adigun and Simidele Adeagbo were received by the President, Muhammadu Buhari, on the 7th of March.
The bobsled and skeleton athletes, Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga and Simidele Adeagbo made history as the first Nigerian representatives at the Winter Olympics.
Although the women finished without a medal, they were applauded for their historic outings for Nigeria.
Seun had led the Bobsled team without the help of the Nigerian government before Simidele was inspired to join in as a Skeleton athlete.
On behalf of their colleagues, Seun and Simidele were received by Buhari, who gave them a presidential handshake and also commended their efforts in making history for Nigeria.
“Words cannot express the joy and honor I feel after being received by the Honorable President Muhammadu Buhari of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. Thank you Honorable Sports Minister Solomon Dalung for additionally having a personal reception for our BSFN athlete representatives,” Seun said.
